What are the Advantages of Impact Crusher Compared with Hammer Crusher?

Both impact crusher and hammer crusher are medium crushing equipment, usually used in the crushing of medium and low hardness stones such as limestone and weathered rock. So, what is the difference between these two medium crushing equipment?

1. In terms of finished product particle shape, impact crusher has good particle shape, no hidden cracks, strong aggregate compressive resistance, and can be used for high-grade concrete. However, hammer crusher has poor particle shape, hidden cracks, weak aggregate compressive resistance, and is generally used in low-grade concrete.

2. In terms of internal structure, impact crusher uses overall rigid plate hammer, with a large striking range, high crushing efficiency, and greater output. Hammer crusher uses small elastic hammer head, with a small striking range, low crushing efficiency, and low output.

3. In terms of stone powder content, impact crusher stones are mostly cubic, with fewer needle-shaped stones, and the powder output rate is controllable. The powder output rate of hammer crusher is uncontrollable.

4. In terms of the life of wearing parts, the wear of the impact hammer only occurs on the side facing the material. When the rotor speed is normal, the feed will fall to the surface of the hammer (striking surface), and the back and sides of the hammer will not be worn. Moreover, the bottom grinding rod is also easy to replace, and the material utilization rate of its hammer is as high as about 45%-48%. The hammer head of the hammer crusher is in a suspended state, and the wear occurs on the top, front, back and sides. Compared with the hammer, the hammer head wears more seriously.

5. In terms of investment scale, the initial investment of the impact crushing production line is higher than that of the hammer crusher, but the later operating cost is lower.

The above are several differences between the impact crusher and the hammer crusher. In summary, the impact crusher has more advantages than the hammer crusher in stone crushing, but the initial investment is higher than that of the hammer crusher. If it is a medium-sized and large-scale production line that is in long-term operation and has relatively high requirements for the quality of the finished stone, it is recommended to use the impact crusher as the secondary crushing equipment to reduce the later downtime and ensure normal production profitability.
