What is the Difference Between the Process of Crushing Hard Rock and Soft Rock?
author:dahua2 time:2024-11-07
There are many stones that can be crushed in the crushing production line, such as limestone, marl, granite, diabase, basalt, etc. These stones are divided into hard rock and soft rock. The hardness of hard rock is basically above 150Mpa, and the hardness of soft rock is below 150Mpa. Because hard rock is more difficult to crush and causes greater wear and tear on the crusher, there are significant differences in the process when processing hard rock and soft rock.
Whether it is soft rock or hard rock, the basic goal of crushing is to break large rocks into the required small particles or aggregates to meet the needs of subsequent processing or use. The two crushing processes are roughly similar, usually including loading, coarse crushing, medium crushing, fine crushing, screening and other links.
1. When crushing hard rock, jaw crushers and cone crushers are usually used for crushing. The cone crusher is suitable for processing high-hardness rocks and crushing the rocks through lamination. In addition, impact crushers (shaping machines) are often used for shaping hard rock to eliminate needle flakes and internal cracks produced during the crushing process and improve the quality of the finished product.
2. When crushing soft rock, jaw crushers and impact crushers are usually used for crushing. The impact crusher adopts the impact crushing method and is suitable for processing rocks with medium and low hardness. The sand and gravel materials processed have uniform particle size, low needle and flake content, reasonable gradation, and high quality of finished products.
Recommended Configuration Plans for Materials with Different Hardnesses
1. Medium and brittle materials: feeder + jaw crusher + impact crusher + sand making machine + sand washing machine + vibrating screen + belt conveyor
2. Hard materials: feeder + jaw crusher + cone crusher + sand making machine + sand washing machine + vibrating screen + belt conveyor
When choosing a crusher, you need to decide based on the hardness characteristics of the rock. Cone crushers are suitable for hard rocks, while impact crushers and hammer crushers are more suitable for soft rocks.
