What's the Difference Between Impact Crusher and Hammer Crusher?

Both the impact crusher and the hammer crusher are used in the intermediate crushing stage of the crushing production line. Their appearance and structure are similar, and they can be used in ore crushers, highways and railways, etc., but they are very different in structure and working principle. What's the difference between impact crusher and hammer crusher?
1. Different working principle
Impact crusher is a crushing machine that uses impact energy to crush materials. When the machine is working, driven by the motor, the rotor rotates at a high speed. When the material enters the action area of the blow bar, it collides with the blow bar on the rotor and breaks, and then is thrown to the counterattack device to be broken again, and then bounces off the counterattack liner. Return to the action area of the blow hammer to be broken again. This process is repeated. The material enters the first, second and third counterattack chambers from large to small for repeated crushing until the material is broken to the required particle size and discharged from the discharge port.
Hammer crushers mainly rely on impact energy to complete the operation of crushing materials. When the hammer crusher is working, the motor drives the rotor to rotate at a high speed, and the material enters the crusher cavity evenly. The high-speed rotating hammer head rushes to the baffle plate and sieve bar in the frame, and the material larger than the sieve hole size is blocked on the sieve plate and continues to be hit and ground by the hammer until it is crushed to the required discharge size and finally discharged out of the machine through the sieve plate .
2. Different of the structure
The main components of the impact crusher are spring, railing, front impact frame, rear impact frame, impact lining plate, square steel, impact lining plate bolts, flip device, main shaft, plate hammer, rotor frame, lining plate, locking block, pressure tight block etc.
The main components of hammer crusher are box (casing), rotor, hammer head, main shaft, counterattack lining plate, sieve plate, etc.
3. Different crushed materials
The impact crusher can process not only soft materials, but also medium and hard materials. Hammer crushing is only suitable for processing materials with low hardness, such as coal, gypsum, bricks and tiles, limestone, etc.
In addition, the impact crusher has no grate, so when dealing with materials with a large water content, clogging can be avoided. However, due to the structure of the grate bar, the hammer is easy to block when processing materials with high humidity.
4. Different production costs
As far as the initial purchase cost is concerned, the price of impact crusher is higher than that of hammer. However, the cost of hammer crusher is higher than impact crusher. This has a lot to do with the material of their accessories. The wear of the impact blower is generally the side facing the material, while the contact surface of the blower is larger and wears faster. On the other hand, when replacing the parts of the impact crusher, it is only necessary to open the rear casing of the crusher to replace it, which takes less time and labor costs. And hammer head of the hammer crusher is more. It takes a lot of time and manpower to replace a set of hammer heads, which is relatively expensive. Generally speaking, the maintenance cost of hammer crusher is much higher than that of impact crusher.
